In the next instalment of our 'Meet The Team' series, we introduce Michael Holley, Software Engineer at Sport:80.

Michael, tell us a bit about yourself!

"I’m from Rotherham and have stayed local, completing a degree in Games Software Development at Sheffield Hallam University, and then working at a Sheffield-based games company for several years.

"More recently I built web scrapers for a market research company in Doncaster, before joining the team at Sport:80."

What are some of your main duties at Sport:80?

"I sometimes work on the Platform API to help integrate third-party services such as etrainu.

"I also work on the backend, to add new functionality and help migrate legacy code to the new framework."

Tell us a bit about your interests!

"I enjoy playing video-games, going to the woods to find fungi, and riding my push bike."

Who is your favourite sports team/athlete?

"Marc Marquez."

What's your favourite sporting memory?

"Marquez winning the MotoGP in his debut season."

Favourite pasta shape?

"Penne."

Desert island! One film, book, and album for the rest of your life. What are they?

"Film would be 'Heat', book would be 'Between the World and Me' by Ta-Nehisi Coates, and album would be Slipknot's first album, self-titled 'Slipknot'.

Favourite fictional character?

"Robert McCall from 'The Equalizer'."

The thing that annoys you most?

"Blinding headlights."

What about something you love, that everybody else hates?

"Twiglets!"

What's something you don't like, that everybody else does?

"Tikka Masala."

What's your spirit animal?

"I would say an owl!"

If you could go back to any moment in time, when would it be?

"I would want to see old Britain, maybe pre-Roman."
