In the first instalment of our brand new 'Meet The Team' series, we introduce Bradley Champion, Customer Success Team Member at Sport:80.

Bradley, tell us a bit about yourself!

“I grew up in a little village on the outskirts of Bath.

“As a kid I loved playing football, and I wanted to become a footballer, but after getting released from a professional academy, I fell out of love with playing the sport and put a greater focus on my academic studies."

“After my gap year, I had to make a decision between pursuing a career in property development or sport, and eventually I chose the latter, which led me working for Pentathlon GB, who had just become a Sport:80 client.

“In my role, I was responsible for assisting/leading the transition from their paper-based system to the Sport:80 Platform, and it was during this time that I met Jonny Turner and Rich Mallon from the Sport:80 team, and it would just so happen that they would become very influential in my career.

“I went to Bournemouth University to study Sports Management, all the while remaining in touch with the Sport:80 guys, and after my second year I was required to go on a work placement.

“I reached out to Jonny and Rich, and I was very grateful that they allowed me to complete my placement year with the company.

“I continued to work part-time with Sport:80 during my third and final year of university, which supported me greatly as I was writing my dissertation on how National Governing Bodies in the UK and USA perceive the role of technology in their business.

“Once my university journey came to an end I joined the team in the full-time role which I work in now, and I'm absolutely loving it."

What are some of your main duties at Sport:80?

“Some of my key responsibilities as a member of the customer success team include managing our collection of Welsh clients, and ensuring we keep up a high level of support on our Zendesk portal, designed to make sure all of our clients get the help they need, when they need it.

“I will also have an important role helping to new customer success recruits up to speed, one of which is starting very soon, and I'm really excited to help the company continue to evolve."

Tell us a bit about your interests!

“On the weekends you are likely to find me watching the football or playing (rather, attempting to play) golf.

“Otherwise, I always love to grab a beer, or go out for some food, with friends.

“More than anything, though, I love to travel. Since the pandemic I haven't been able to go as much as I'd like, but hopefully that will change in the near future. In fact, my number one bucket list item is to travel across the world watching live sport in as many countries as I can."
