USA Shooting has announced a partnership with sport technology provider Sport:80, that will see the National Governing Body (NGB) for Shooting Sport break new ground.
Working with their recently appointed Technology Partner, USA Shooting has launched a new membership and events platform that promises to deliver benefits throughout the governing body and to all those involved in the sport across the country. The partnership has also seen USA Shooting become the first US-based NGB to join the Sport:80 Community; a collective of like-minded sports organisations utilizing innovative technology to drive the growth of sport.
When asked why the governing body chose to partner with the UK-based sport technology provider, Pete Carson, Director of High Performance at USA Shooting explained, “Sport:80 has a rich background of working in shooting sport, and it was this experience that actually provided the foundation for the technology we are using today. Their understanding of our sport and the capability of the technology really sold us on the idea of working with them.”
Now operational, USA Shooting’s membership and events platform enables anyone interested in the sport to create an account, purchase a membership, enter competitions and events, and view results and rankings, among a host of other features. Pete continued, “Like most governing bodies of sport, we recognise the importance of making our sport accessible. Digital services like the technology provided by Sport:80 are the perfect means to achieve this. I believe that our organisation and our members are going to see many benefits as a result of this new partnership.”
USA Shooting have become the first US member of Sport:80’s Community; a group of like-minded sports organisations including the British Olympic Association, British Weight Lifting, British Fencing, Archery GB and BISFed among others. All of which use and benefit from Sport:80’s innovative sport management platform. Sport:80 actively encourages knowledge sharing amongst the community and often develops new Platform features and tools as a result of this engagement. Joining the community has already had a positive impact on USA Shooting with the NGB being able to take advantage of new features such as digital membership cards that can be stored on Apple and Android smartphones, CRM functionality to track member engagement and an email marketing tool.
Sport:80’s Chief Executive Officer, Gary Hargraves spoke of his joy in welcoming USA Shooting to the Sport:80 Community:
“We are delighted to be working with USA Shooting and to welcome them to the Sport:80 family. They are an organisation with huge ambition and a great ethos, and we are very much looking forward to working with all of the team. I’ve no doubt that our technology will be hugely positive in terms of helping USA Shooting grow their sport in years to come.”
