The BISFed Competition Management System (BCMS) was custom-built for the sport of Boccia and is the result of the International Federation’s long-standing association with trusted technology partner, Sport:80. The belief is that the BCMS will play a significant role in BISFed’s aim to consistently deliver world class events, and as a result will be used in all of its international competitions during 2017.
The technology will support event organisers, technical delegates and referees in the planning and delivery of competitions. The BCMS has been specifically developed with the intelligence to cater for BISFed’s varying competition requirements, including formats, venues and scoring systems. It will manage schedules, allow for the input of live scores and display results around the venues.
BISFed and Sport:80 have dedicated significant time and resource in the technology in order to ensure it is fit for purpose and enables event staff to deliver the best possible experience. BISFed Operations Manager, Dom Tremblay said;
“The new BCMS will simplify the management of our events as well as allow the Boccia family to follow competitions more closely. Now everything can be done in a live environment; scores will populate as they are entered and results posted simultaneously. As long as you have an internet connection, you will be able to follow everything as it happens.”
Thorough testing of the BCMS has been carried out over the past 18 months, however the event Sant Cugat is the first time that it has been used in full at a BISFed event. For the Sant Cugat event, the BCMS has also worked in tandem with another of BISFed’s innovative technologies. The International Federation’s Sport Management System, which has also been developed by Sport:80, was used to collect and manage event entries, directly feeding entrant data in to the BCMS ready for the competition.
BISFed and Sport:80 will continue to develop and improve the BCMS technology adding new features and in turn improving Boccia competitions for all those connected with the sport.
